What you get
Host a grown-up art mystery at home, any time of year. The Vanishing Masterpiece is a printable escape room game for teens and adults: 2–8 players, about 60–90 minutes of play. Instant download, US Letter and A4 PDFs.
THE STORYThe night before its hundredth birthday, the Halloway Museum of Art keeps a crew of five working late. At 9:30 p.m. every outside door is locked and alarmed, and none opens again all night. Just before midnight the power fails for a few minutes. When the night guard next goes round, The Lantern Ferry, the museum's best-loved painting, is gone from its frame. It has not left the building. Next morning the director, a retired crossword setter, calls in your puzzle club. She has locked away every paper from the night and hidden every combination inside a puzzle. Open the locks, find out where the painting is hidden and who moved it before the doors open. A theft mystery only: nothing scary, no violence.
